Master’s Degrees
Antioch Baptist Seminary offers two levels of Masters Degrees in its program. The first level degrees are our Master of Ministry, Master in Biblical Studies, Master of Missiology, and Master of Theology degrees. These Master’s degrees are 30 credit hours of study. These first level Master’s degrees do not require a thesis nor a dissertation. The advanced Master’s Degree program is called the Master of Divinity (M.Div.). The M.Div. degree does require a 10,000 word (about 40 page) dissertation.
Master of Divinity Degree
The Master of Divinity program is the flagship degree offered at most theological seminaries. It normally is a 90-credit hour course.
Our Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program presupposes that a student entering this course of study graduated from a Bible College or University where the student completed at least 30 credit hours in doctrine, theology, or Biblical Studies.
Students not coming from a Bible College or University or that do not have 30 credit hours in doctrine, theology, or Biblical Studies will need to complete a Master’s in Biblical Studies (or its equivalent) at our school prior to entering the advanced Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program.
Prerequisites for a Master of Divinity: An Bachelor’s degree (120 credit hours)
Course requirements: This program is a 30-credit hour course. The student prior to graduation will need to write a 10,000 word thesis which is approximately 40 pages double spaced.
