In the year of 1946, I had just returned from three years in the U.S. Army. The war was over and, as a young minister, I was anxious to know God’s will for my life. During this time, God laid out a plan for my life and showed it to me. It was unbelievable.
God laid upon my heart to start a radio ministry. I was not on the air at that time but have been since the first Sunday of 1947.
Another thing God laid upon my heart was to start a Bible college and seminary. At that time it seemed impossible. God did not say when nor where. During the years that followed, I went to the University of Tulsa. After this I taught in Bible colleges, but this was not what God had promised. In 1968, God opened the door for Antioch Baptist Bible College and Seminary. It was a very humble beginning, but somehow I felt that this was God’s promise made in 1946.
The young people of our day are facing many problems that no other generation has faced. We face totalitarian Communist power in much of the world with at least five nations in possession of nuclear weapons. There is a worldwide breakdown of law and order, with dissenters the world over who revolt against government, order, law, religion, established norms, present educational methods, morals, the Bible concept of sex, and every established, tried, proven guide. This is the world you face today.
There is no simple solution, we say; and this is true, but, on the other hand, there is an answer. HIS NAME IS JESUS. HIS BOOK IS THE BIBLE. HIS POWER IS THE HOLY SPIRIT. HIS FATHER IS THE ETERNAL GOD. There is no human problem that He cannot solve and no depth of human suffering, heartache, and sin that He cannot reach.
We here at the Antioch Baptist Church and Bible College and Seminary have dedicated ourselves and all our resources to teaching and training men and women to go forth with THE ANSWER for our troubled world. By the grace of God, we will go forth presenting Him to our world and praying that many will accept Him and be saved eternally.

Dr. Walter L. MacMillian
College Founder
Dr. Walter L. MacMillian served for many years as the vice-president of the Bible College. He also was one of the school’s long time teachers.
While Dr. MacMillian taught at Antioch, it was a requirement in his Bible classes that the students read the Bible book they were studying no less than 50 times during their semester course. Our current Bible College president had one of his first courses with Dr. MacMillian in the early 1970’s. Brother Kirche had to read the book of Genesis more than 50 times in during the 17-week course.
On Thursday, September 24, 1942, Rev. Walter L. MacMillian prayed to before the Congress of the United States Senate at the opening of that day’s deliberations. His prayer is recorded in the Senate’s “Congressional Record of the 77th Congress.” His prayer was the following:
“Our blessed God and Heavenly Father, the eternal destiny of nations is in thine hands. We pray that in this senate and in this place this morning everyone of these men may look unto thee for guidance. We thank Thee that through the Lord Jesus Christ we may come unto Thee, for He is the way, the truth, and the life. And Father, we pray that the Spirit of God may come afresh upon every individual of our nation, that we may have the spiritual revival which is essential to the welfare of our people. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we ask it. Amen”
There is a plaque in our in the school library in his honor and a copy of Congressional Record Newspaper from that day where his prayer is recorded.
